What I’ve been anticipating and eager for from the first Disney Infinity release has become a reality: Disney Infinity 3.0 Star Wars.
When Disney first launched Disney Infinity I thought that the characters from the Star Wars universe would blend in perfectly with the style of gameplay and open world creativity that the Disney Infinity title allows you to have. And now here it is.

With Disney Infinity 3.0 not only are you now able to play with the characters using the Rise of the Empire play sets you are also able to create your own unique Star Wars worlds in the Toy Box.
I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ve been playing this game more than Norrin. The cool thing about this game is that I’m also introducing Star Wars and it’s history with him while he watches. Norrin enjoys driving the vehicles and piloting all the starships.

What’s great about Disney Infinity 3.0 is that you can mix and match characters from different Star Wars storylines.
You can use characters from Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Clone Wars and naturally the characters from both Star Wars movie trilogies.
This adds an interesting twist when it comes to creating a Toy Box world that you can customize personally and make your own, and if you are inclined you can share it with the online Toy Box community.
Inside Out
Also new for Disney Infinity 3.0 is the inclusion of characters from Disney’s hit movie Inside Out.
This is the part of Disney Infinity 3.0 that Norrin enjoys the most. The Inside Out Play Set levels are challenging but not so difficult that it would deter him from continuing playing. The colorful levels and interesting puzzles are fun and challenging at the same time. It plays like a classic platformer, and the controls are intuitive and easy to pick up.
We actually purchased the Inside Out figures and Play Set before receiving Disney Infinity 3.0. The second Norrin saw them in the store his entire face lit up. Seeing him that excited about playing a video game is amazing.

Toy Box
While the Disney Infinity Play Sets are enough to keep you occupied the Toy Box portion plays as a stand alone game.
The ability to create a Toy Box world that can incorporate all of these characters seamlessly and at the same time gives you the opportunity to be creative while using your favorite backdrops backgrounds characters and vehicles from many of your favorite Disney properties. You can simulate a sword fight between Captain Jack Sparrow and Luke Skywalker or even have a pistol match with Barbosa and Han Solo.
The possibilities for mixing and matching seem almost endless.

Toy Box Takeover
The Toy Box Takeover, a Toy Box expansion game (sold separately), allows you to play as any character in a series of mission based levels which span across Disney, Marvel and Star Wars universe.
Toy Box Speedway
Looking for something fun without investing too much time in the game? Then I recommend picking up the Toy Box Speedway Expansion Game. Toy Box Speedway allows you to race various vehicles using all the characters in the Disney Infinity catalog.
Within Toy Box Speedway is a battle racing mode that’s flat out fun and plays as well as any battle racing game I’ve played.
So now you can also mix and match vehicles and characters from all over the Disney spectrum and battle it out with friends and family. It’s a quick and easy way to start up your Disney Infinity experience.
With the holidays near these would be a perfect gift for those Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars fans close to you.
