During the holiday break, we were provided with four tickets to visit The Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden. It’s one of Norrin’s favorite places to go and he loves seeing all the different trains.

Norrin has been going to the Holiday Train Show for years – mostly on school trips – but last year we went as a family for the first time. We had such a great time, we knew it would be a new tradition for us.
A must-see New York tradition where enchanting model trains zip past popular landmarks under the twinkling glow of the magical Haupt Conservatory! Step into a city in miniature featuring more than 150 iconic buildings, all re-created with bark, leaves, and other natural materials. Marvel at G-scale trains humming along among familiar sights such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, and Rockefeller Center—surprising at every turn—on a quarter-mile of track as they enliven this cherished holiday experience. The Artist’s Studio showcases how visionary artist Paul Busse and his team craft these amazing small wonders. Real trains, real landmarks, real fun—only at NYBG!
Going again this year was just as special. I got to take my mom – she loves the Botanical Garden and it was her first time seeing the Holiday Train Show. Since we went during the week, I had to wait for Joseph to get out of work to go. We arrived at 6pm just in time for the 6:15 viewing.
Last year we visited the show on a Sunday morning – it was pretty crowded and while it was organized – I still felt like I didn’t see everything there was to see. And I was worried about Norrin getting lost in the crowd.
Seeing it on a Monday evening was a completely different experience. Walking through the Garden at night, we got to see the holidays lights. And inside was practically empty. We could enjoy every single train and structure. We walked around twice! And I loved seeing Norrin’s excitement as he watched the trains go by.
But no matter what day or time you go, the Holiday Train Show is a spectacular and it’s something every family should experience at least once.
That’s why I’m excited to host a 4 ticket giveaway to the Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden. The tickets are for a weekday visit to the Holiday Train Show. The show runs through Jan 19.

My favorite holiday tradition is taking the kids to see Santa at santaland! They get so excited to see the big jolly guy and they absolutely love the sites as we walk through santaland. My Dono loves all the train sets and always asks if we can take them home!
