The 12th Annual Sprout Film Festival is this weekend!
Through various programs Sprout Films is expanding the use of film as a tool to enlighten, entertain and empower. Their catalogue of films – focusing on Aspergers Syndrome, Brain Injury, Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Down syndrome – educate and inspire communities and continue “making the invisible visible.”
The Sprout Film Festival will take place Saturday May 31 – Sunday June 1 in NYC at The SVA Theatre 333 West 23rd Street. Sprout will showcase 37 unique, artistic and memorable films featuring people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This year, Sprout has created a sensory friendly (lights dimmed, volume lowered and guests allowed to move around and speak) program to accommodate individuals with autism and sensory processing disorders.

Program 2: On the Spectrum | Autism Sensory Friendly Screening
2:30PM | 75 min + Q&A
Program 2 will feature 7 short films including documentaries, animations and music videos. All the films in the program are about and feature subjects with autism. And two of the films were made by autistic individuals.
