As Star Wars fans, we love finding little ways to celebrate May the 4th. Especially with friends who love Star Wars as much as we do. Ruby and Marcus of GUBLife love Star Wars as much as we do. Ok, fine – maybe just Marcus, Ruby’s husband. Don’t get me wrong, Ruby is a fan but not the way me, Joseph and her husband are.
Joseph and Marcus. Their bromance was slow to start but blossomed while at Disney Social Media Moms last February.
While the kids were at the Oceaneer’s Club, and me and Ruby were at the #DisneySMMC sessions, Marcus and Joseph hung out at the bar or in the movie theater. They watched Rogue One twice on board the Disney Wonder.
Ruby and I had so much fun planning our Easter Mom Amiga Baskets, we thought our husbands would love a May the 4th gift exchange to celebrate Star Wars Day.
A May the 4th BroMail Gift Exchange
When I told Joseph the plan, he as all for it. But there was some disconnect.
Not sure why I was surprised. Joseph is a guy. And while he’s a thoughtful guy…he’s still a guy.
He doesn’t buy cards. And he doesn’t usually think ahead about gifts. Again, not sure why this surprised me. (LOL)
I realized this when Joseph asked for Marcus’ mailing address. His plan was to order something on line and just send it to him.
This would totally work but not exactly what I had in mind.
In the end, Joseph ordered a Star Wars gift item for Marcus. There wasn’t a theme of several little gifts. There wasn’t a card. Joseph just said, “this is it,” and I said, “OK.”
Joseph selected an R2D2 Car Charger. It’s pretty cool, practical and ideal for any Star Wars fan who wants to feel like R2 is their c0-pilot.
Isn’t it cool?
So we hope Marcus likes it…
It doesn’t need to be May the 4th to do a Star Wars BroMail Gift Exchange, you can do it for any holiday to celebrate your love of Star Wars.
3 Things to Keep in Mind When Planning a BroMail Star Wars Gift Exchange:
- What’s their favorite Star Wars character?
- What Star Wars memorabilia do they already have?
- Make it fun & maybe functional! What will they use? (There are so many Star Wars gifts to choose from – selfie sticks to aprons – but don’t get a Star Wars BBQ set if your friend doesn’t BBQ.)
Happy Star Wars Day! May the 4th Be With You.
