Nesquik: A Great Post Game Beverage For My Young Athlete

October 2, 2015 by Lisa 1 Comment

This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Nesquik and Latina Bloggers Connect. As always, all opinions are my own.

Nesquik is our favorite post game drink

Shortly after Norrin was diagnosed with autism, he was evaluated by an occupational and physical therapist. The evaluations concluded that Norrin had weak muscle tone and didn’t have the coordination of his typical peers. He not only had difficulty running, Norrin couldn’t throw a ball, kick or jump. All of movements required in a sport like soccer.

My husband, Joseph, is a huge sports fan. And he wanted to share his love of sports with his son. It was important that Norrin learn how to throw, run, jump and kick.

Over the years, with many hours of therapy, practice and a lot of patience Norrin has learned. But he still requires practice with fine and gross motor to continue strengthening his muscles.

Soccer has been a great way to improve on his coordination. Kicking around a soccer ball is a combination of therapy, fun and exercise. He’s not on a team but that doesn’t stop us from playing whenever or where ever we can.

After playing Norrin is exhausted – both physically and mentally. Playing any kind of sport takes everything he has to focus, follow directions and concentrate. He needs to restore his strength and energy.

Nesquik is the perfect post game drink.

Nesquik is a quick and easy way to get kids the nutrition they need.

After a tough practice or game, studies suggest that low fat chocolate milk, like Nesquik, may contain the ideal 3:1 ratio of carbohydrates-to-protein that can help restore tired muscles. This right balance provides your young athlete with the nourishment they need after a hard game.

Nesquik is the drink that keeps Norrin happy and healthy.

Nesquik is free from artificial colors and sweeteners. It provides kids with 40% daily value for calcium and 8 grams of protein.

Norrin loves drinking it and I feel good about giving it to him. Nesquik is the drink I grew up drinking. One of my favorite quick lunches is still a Strawberry Nesquik with a PB&J sandwich. It’s great when we can share our love of  Nesquik together.

Nesquik chocolate milk is available in pre-made 8 oz. serving bottles full of all the same nutritional benefits plus the great taste kids love. Its convenient size makes it portable and a great option when packing lunches and nutritious snacks for after school activities.

As a ready-to-drink chocolate milk, I can just toss a bottle in my bag for days when we’re out and about. With a handful of almonds or walnuts and a banana, it’s the perfect on-the-go  snack.

Nesquik is my son's favorite post game drink

euphoria: the feeling or state of intense exciteme euphoria: the feeling or state of intense excitement and happiness 🌻 I may struggle with depression and anxiety but I also have moments of pure and genuine happiness. That is where I am right now. One of the gifts I’ve received in sobriety is the ability to hold space for all of my emotions. I feel them, I acknowledge them and I let them pass. For me, it’s in the passing where the power is... I don’t stay in it. ✨ 45 is going to be amazing. ✨
Depression and anxiety can easily knock me down. B Depression and anxiety can easily knock me down. But I continue to get up. I do my hair, throw on some hoops, dab a little gloss and give myself a pep talk. Dear Me, I know you’re scared, but you can handle this. Keep going. Love, Me 🌻#selfcareseptember #radicalbodylove
No I’m sorry or explanation necessary. Just NO a No I’m sorry or explanation necessary. Just NO and keep it moving. ”No” is hard when you’re a people pleaser but boundaries are absolutely necessary. It’s something I’m learning to do to maintain my own peace of mind. Lack of boundaries invites lack of respect. And I respect myself way too much to allow anyone to disrespect me. 💥 periodt ✌🏼 #selfcareseptember #radicalbodylove

Describing myself in 25 words or less without using roles or physical features was not easy. It took a little time. But I did. Making healthy choices, setting boundaries is a daily practice. I am grateful I have the willingness to do so. I am grateful I can pause and breathe through my anxiety. I am grateful I have the courage to follow my dreams. Thank you @rosiemolinary - I am grateful for your words and online presence in my life. Hope we can be in the same room again soon. xoxo amiga 💛 #selfcareseptember #radicalbodylove
