This time last year we took our first magical multi-generational vacation at Walt Disney World. My parents had such a great time, that we’ve been talking about taking another Disney vacation. Summer came and went. Even though we talked about vacation ideas – it’s been tough.
Norrin wants to return to Walt Disney World – he just doesn’t want to fly to get there. And after his major meltdown on JetBlue, I’m not exactly rushing to get on a plane with him.
And then I thought…why not plan a Disney Cruise Line vacation?!
I’ve never been on a cruise in my life. (It sort of freaks me out.) I’ve always said, the only cruise I would ever do, is a Disney Cruise. And I’m beyond excited that now Disney Cruises leave from New York City. Making it perfect for our family to experience the Disney magic without getting on a plane.

I’ve been doing my research and vacation planning for a while, trying to figure out which Disney Cruise would be best for our family.
When I saw that the Disney Magic sails from New York City to San Juan (Puerto Rico) – my mind was made up.
Joseph and I haven’t been to Puerto Rico in more than a decade. My dad hasn’t been to Puerto Rico since he left the island as a teenager. And Norrin’s never been. I would love to experience San Juan with my entire family.

Having a kid with autism, sometimes it’s hard to explain things like culture and heritage. Norrin likes learning Spanish words and he loves Puerto Rican food. I would love to walk along the streets of San Juan or visit El Yunque National Forest with Norrin. I want him to see the island his grandparents were born.

My friend Divina of Dancing Hotdogs recently shared why she loves cruising with Disney Cruise Lines.
After watching Divina’s videos and living vicariously through her social media feeds, it’s only a matter of time before I make a reservation on a Disney Cruise.
In case you’re wondering, this post is not sponsored. Just Disney dreaming!
