During our 7 days in Orlando, DriveShop loaned us the 2015 Kia Sedona SX-L. All opinions are our own.
It’s been years since I’ve been on vacation with my parents and it was our first multi-gen family vacation to Orlando, Florida.
As a kid, I remember family trips cramped in a car. The trunk was packed to capacity and kids often sat on the adults laps, adults squeezed shopping bags between their legs. As a kid, none of it bothered me but as an adult, I can imagine how uncomfortable it was for our parents. Who wants to go anywhere like that?
That’s not the kind of experience I wanted for our seven-day vacation.
We needed a vehicle for 5 adults and 1 child. A vehicle that would fit all of our luggage and our family needs for the week.
I don't have to be a driver to know what I want in a car. And the Kia Sedona SX-L has everything I want. Click To Tweet

Lots of storage
I was a little worried about all of our luggage fitting, but it was fine. The trunk easily accommodated our 6 suitcases, a duffel bag and a backpack. And there was plenty storage space throughout – cup holders for all, 2 glove compartments, and side door compartments.
I know it doesn’t seem like a big deal but I really liked all the cup holders. Every day we each had our resort mugs and a bottle of water and it was convenient that we all had a place to put our beverages.
A vehicle with a view
Who needs a room with view if your vehicle has it? Since it was my dad’s first time in Florida, I let him ride shotgun. I wanted my dad to have the best view possible.
Side note: Within the first ten minutes, my dad was in love – with the Kia Sedona, not the view. From that moment on, every time he stepped in the multi-purpose vehicle all he could talk about was how he wanted the Sedona for himself. I think he’s ready for an upgrade.
I took the middle row with my sister. My mom and Norrin sat in the back. Throughout the week, we all took turns in changing seats. (Except for Joseph – he was our designated driver.) But even from the back seats, the windows were large and we were able to enjoy the scenery.

USB ports
When we arrived in Florida, my phone was losing its charge. As I took the seat in the middle row, I was happy that there was a USB port and an outlet! I knew that throughout the trip, I could easily charge up our devices (camera, phone, iPads, back up charger and selfie stick). There were also 2 USB ports in the driving/passenger seat.
After a long day, it was great to come back to the car and be able to charge our devices. There were enough ports for everyone and I loved that we didn’t have to fight for a port.
Comfort
No matter where I sat in the Kia Sedona SX-L, I was comfortable. We all had plenty of leg room. As much as love riding in the passenger seat, I envied the middle row seating. It was nice to sit back and put your legs up – especially after walking around all day.
The leg rest was my parents favorite feature and they enjoyed every moment of sitting in the middle row.
Speaking of comfort. Never thought I’d want/need a seat cooler but Orlando is hot. And after walking around all day in the heat, it was such a treat to have the seat cooler.
Safety
As a mom, I loved all the safety features. Like the backup parking screen and the rear view mirror beeping/lighting up when a car is close.

It’s been two weeks since we said goodbye to the KIA Sedona SX-L. And I miss it. Yesterday we were driving around running errands and all I could think about was the comfort and convenience of the Sedona compared to our compact vehicle.
