During our recent Walt Disney World vacation, we got to visit a few other Disney Resorts. Since we had the dining plan, I wanted to explore as many options possible. On our second evening, we had reservations at the Captain’s Grille at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.
We arrived almost an hour before our reservation and I’m glad we did because it gave us a chance to explore. Even though it was extremely overcast, the view was spectacular.
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is 1 of 8 Disney World Deluxe Resort Hotels.
It’s a “grand New England-style yacht club” within walking distance to Epcot and a convenient boat ride to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
We were staying at Disney’s All-Star Movies (a Value Resort) and it was nice to see how the other half lives. The price difference between resorts is almost $300 per night.
Can you imagine spending a week here? Sitting by the beach…then walking over to Epcot or taking a relaxing boat ride to Hollywood Studios.
On the ship is a pool. (I didn’t see it up close, I saw it on another site.)
My parents and sister were in awe of the view. Apparently so was Joseph because he couldn’t stop taking selfies. It was sweet the way my mom held Norrin’s hand and pointed out the boats and the lighthouse. I loved the look and feel of Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. There was something very Gatsbyish about it.
I wish I could have taken more pictures (especially of the lighthouse since the pier was empty) but about 2 minutes after I took the below picture, there was a torrential downpour and we all had to make a run for it.
Typically we don’t care where we stay while on vacation because all we need is a place to sleep and shower. But after seeing Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, we left with a a serious case of resort envy. Maybe one day we’ll treat ourselves to a night or two…

It’s nice how the other half lives. The last pic is my favorite. You guys are too cute.
