The Children’s Place — Spring/Summer 2014 (see below) |
Warmer weather and planning for vacation not only means new clothes for me but also new clothes for Norrin. It seems as if every morning he’s a little bit bigger and things that fit a few months/weeks ago no longer do. He’s a big kid. And I can’t keep up with his growth spurts.
One of the things that I love about living in the Parkchester area of The Bronx is that there is access to many stores. And The Children’s Place is right at the corner of my apartment building. I can easily pick up items on my way from work or first thing on a weekend morning. The clothes are affordable and durable for a rough and tumble kid like mine.
People always love shopping for girls clothes but shopping for boy clothes can be just as much fun. I love dressing Norrin up in clothes that reflect our personal style.
Joseph is a jeans and t-shirt kind of dad and he loves all things camouflage. So naturally, I buy similar items for Norrin. I love the way bright orange looks with army green and I picked out some great items at The Children’s Place for our summer vacation:
Basic Tee: $7 (Orange) – I love this tee as a layer or as a stand along tee. It’s loose and lightweight.
Pull On Cargo Shorts: $14 (Camouflage) – These shorts are comfortable and can be dressed up or down. The elastic waistband provides boys with autism a sense of independence, allowing him to dress themselves.
Indie Boat Sneaker: $22.95 – This shoe is a great option to dress up any summer outfit. Kids looks cute and sophisticated especially when paired with the Two Tone Fedora ($9.71).
Flip Flops: 2 for $6 – It’s not summer without a pair of chanclas! And I love that this pair matches with his Children’s Place swim trunks.com
Aviator Sunglasses: 2 for $6
