I’m not a fan of setting resolutions but I do like the idea of vision planning. I’ve been meditating and following Danielle LaPorte for over a year. I find that the combination of both are both inspiring and essential to my self-care practice.

I really have to credit my friend Jenn for putting me on to the Calm app, Danielle LaPorte and most recently, Leonie Dawson. When Jenn tells me about something – I know to check up on it.
As much as I love my tech toys, there’s something about writing things down on paper. I like notebooks and planners, especially for vision planning.
When Jenn mentioned Leonie Dawson, I ran to Google. Leonie Dawson has Life and Business planners. The “My Shining Year” planners are way to plan your vision for the upcoming year.
I didn’t want to commit to buying a planner but I liked that I could purchase a digital download. It was less than ten dollars and I printed it out. Then had it bound for about five dollars.
Vision Planning As Self-Care
Vision planning is not about setting resolutions. It’s a creative way to reflect, write down how you feel and what you hope for.
I just starting My Shining Life planner and so far I’m enjoying. Unlike a typical planner, it’s not used to write down your to-do list for the week, the My Shining Life Planner is a workbook. There are sections regarding every aspect of your life: family, body, home, self-care etc.
The planner focuses on things that are always on my mind but writing it down makes me really think about it.
My hope is that by using the My Shining Life planner, it’ll be a way to hold myself accountable for the things that I want.
