One of my favorite things to do during my morning commute is listen to podcasts. But I’ve had a hard time finding an autism mom podcast I liked. And the “typical” mom/parenting podcasts didn’t speak to me either – especially as Norrin gets older.
My blog buddy Eileen from Autism with a Side of Fries also has a love for podcasts. We’ve never met in real life but we’ve been online friends for a few years. We like to exchange tips, quips and podcast suggestions.
Eileen felt the same as I did regarding autism mom podcasts. They were usually super clinical or just lacking the personality we desired in a podcast.
So we decided to start one of our own.
Autism Mom Realness: A podcast for the autism mom who wants honesty, heart and humor.
The podcast world is completely new to me. I’m not as tech savvy as some might think and I have no fancy equipment. I’m literally using what I have. My iPhone. A laptop. And a lot of patience…
For now, it’s working. Eileen and I are chatting the way autism moms do, laughing and keeping it real. We’re creating the kind of podcast that we’d want to listen to.
